Dr. Olajide Benson

Neurologist

 

Olajide Benson, MD is the lead Neurologist at Heritage Neurology. He is board-certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with over 21 years of experience practicing medicine and specializing in Neurology and NeuroCritical Care .

Dr. Benson received his medical degree from a leading Nigerian University, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 1997. He then worked as a medical officer and started training in Orthopedic surgery for 4 years before moving to the united states to pursue his initial passion in Neurology. He completed his Neurology residency at University of Louisville College of Medicine, Kentucky in 2012 and then proceeded to a 2 year Fellowship in Neurocritical Care which he finished in 2014 at Oregon Health and Science University, Oregon.

Eligible for board certification in Neurocritical care by the board of the United Council of Neurological Specialties, Dr. Benson has other certified affiliations with organizations like the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates.

Dr. Benson is dedicated to the treatment of patients with neurological conditions to achieve optimal health. Between 2014 and 2016, he worked as a Staff Neurocritical care physician and also as the Medical Director Neurocritical Care at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Indiana. Before proceeding to establish Heritage Neurology, Olajide Benson worked as a Neurohospitalist at Medical City, Fort Worth Texas for two years.
